Marlene Dietrich
27 December 1901 – 6 May 1992. Marlene was a well know German actress throughout her life. She preformed in Berlin in the 1920's as a silent film star. Her first acting job was working as a chorus girl on tour with Guido Thielscher's Girl-Kabarett, after which making her film debute in So sind die Männer. She continued her career until she landed herself the part of Lola-Lola in The Blue Angel. The part got her a deal with paramount pictures and her name became well known. During the the time from the 50's to the 70's she got her name known as a very successful show performer. Dietrich died of renal failure on 6 May 1992 at the age of 90 in Paris. In 1999, she was named 9th best woman actor.
Sybille Schmitz
2 December 1909 – 13 April 1955.
Sybille got her first job at Max Reinhardt's Deutsches Theater in Berlin in 1927 after finishing acting school in cologne. She got her first film job working on Freie Fahrt after which her career boomed and she appeared in many films such as, Die Frau ohne Vergangenheit, and Fährmann Maria. She had a hard time finding work after WWII and eventually distanced herself from her beloved acting. On April 13, 1955, she committed suicide with an overdose of sleeping medication. After her death, she was honored with a movie, and a documentary about her life.
